Angling on The Lower Mill Estate

The Estate has eight stunning lakes within its 550 acre boundary, some of which offer the opportunity to fish for some of the largest species in the UK.

We have Flagham Fen which is stocked regularly with stunning Rainbow Trout which can be caught on fly, worm or maggot and by using a multitude of different methods.

Mill Lake offers fantastic coarse fishing with Carp growing in excess of 30 pounds and Tench up to 10 pounds in weight, along with Perch, Bream and Pike.

Somerford Lagoon has plenty of Pike up to 30 pounds and some large Perch growing to over 4 pounds in weight.

Freeth Mere stocks Bream, Tench, Perch and Pike and Clearwater Lake sticks Tench, Carp and Perch.

Flagham Fen offers Rainbow trout, fly fishing maggots and worms only.

Steve Rowley our resident fisheries manager is always on hand to offer advice on all of our lakes and species and he also offers exclusive 'Guiding Days' throughout the year. If you want to try and catch a 30 pound Carp on a gorgeous Summer day or a 20 pound Pike in the midst of a frosty Winter day, Steve will take you to the best spots, offer the best tackle and methods to give you the very best chance of catching a fish of a lifetime.

As all anglers know, there are no guarantees in fishing and all you can do is fish the best waters at the right time, with the right tackle and only then can you hope that lady luck looks down on you and you catch that monster fish of a lifetime!

Steve offers Carp fishing guidance from May to September and will spend a full day and night fishing with you on Mill Lake giving the best advice that he can offer in an effort to catch one of the lakes BIG illusive Carp. If Carp don't appeal to you he can also offer Tench fishing trips?

The Pike and Perch fishing season runs from October to March and Steve offers a full day fishing on some of the very best spots..

Can offer advice on where to fish for the required species.

Will set up a complete camp for a two day fishing session where required.

Can accommodate one or two anglers on a day or two day session.

Will provide a cooked breakfast and BBQ lunch or dinner on the day or two day sessions.

Will accompany the angler/s throughout the whole session.

Full discussions will be required prior to any booking being made to determine what species and what objectives the customer has so that a detailed plan can be formulated.
